Free email audit

A free email marketing audit, written for your list.

A free email marketing audit from EmailMarketingAgency.com is a written review of your list health, your SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, your recent campaigns and the dates you are not emailing about. It ends with a sample campaign calendar and arrives by email, with no cost, no sales call and no obligation. Request it with the form below.

Request a free email marketing audit with the form on this page. It is a plain English review for US businesses with a list of any size, and it is yours to keep whether or not you ever hire us.

What does the free email marketing audit cover?

  • Sending setup: whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC are published for your domain and line up with the address in your From line.
  • List health: how people join, how fast the list grows and how many contacts have gone quiet.
  • Your last few campaigns: subject lines, preheaders, the layout on a phone, links, and the postal address and opt out link that CAN-SPAM requires.
  • Gaps in your calendar: launches, seasons, local events and holidays that passed without an email.
  • A sample campaign calendar: campaign ideas with send dates, planned around your business.

The form asks for six things: your name, a work email, your website, your email platform, a rough list size and one line on what you want email to do. No login and no card.

Rather write directly? Send your website and platform to info@emailmarketingagency.com.

No phone line, no sales call

We work entirely by email, so every finding arrives in writing and is easy to forward to your team.

What happens after you submit the form?

  1. Your request lands in our inbox. We read what you told us about your business and goals.
  2. We look from the outside first. SPF and DMARC live in public DNS records, and DKIM can be checked from the headers of an email you have already sent, so none of it needs a login. We also review your signup form and recent sends.
  3. We ask for numbers only when we need them. For list health we may ask for a screenshot or export from your platform's reports. The audit never needs your password.
  4. You receive the written audit. Findings for each area, ordered by what to fix first, plus the sample campaign calendar.
  5. You decide what happens next. Fix things yourself, ask questions by email, or hand the work to us on the $1,000 a month plan for 8 campaigns. To see how a paid month runs, read our email marketing process.

Which deliverability and CAN-SPAM rules does the audit check?

Inbox providers and the FTC publish their rules, so this part of the audit is not opinion. We compare your setup with these:

CheckWhat the rule saysSet by
SPF or DKIMEvery sender to Gmail needs at least one; Yahoo asks for the same minimumGoogle, Yahoo
SPF, DKIM and DMARC togetherRequired for senders of more than 5,000 messages a day to Gmail; Yahoo wants bulk senders on a DMARC policy of at least p=noneGoogle, Yahoo
One click unsubscribeRequired on marketing messages from bulk senders; Yahoo asks that unsubscribes be honored within 2 daysGoogle, Yahoo
Spam rateKeep it below 0.3%; Google asks senders to stay under 0.1% in Postmaster Tools and never reach 0.3%Google, Yahoo
Postal address and opt outA valid physical postal address, a clear way to opt out, and opt outs honored within 10 business daysFTC (CAN-SPAM)

Apple says Mail Privacy Protection downloads remote content privately in the background when a message arrives, so Apple Mail opens can overstate real reading. That is why the audit gives clicks more weight than opens. Clients on the monthly plan get these checks every month as part of our email deliverability service.

Can you audit your email marketing yourself?

Yes, and our guides show how. Use the email deliverability checklist for authentication and spam rate, the CAN-SPAM compliance checklist for footers and opt outs, and the guide to email marketing metrics to read your reports. What an outside review adds is the gap check: we line up your recent sends against your seasons, your launches and the 2027 email marketing calendar, then list the dates you skipped.

What does a missed opportunity look like?

Three examples from email campaigns we have written:

  • Riverwalk at Yadkin River in Jonesville, NC hosts Camp O Ween, a Halloween event that earned its own email. Local event emails are a regular part of our campground email marketing.
  • ExpenseTracker's "New Month, Clean Ledger" email was timed to November 1 falling on a Sunday, the same day the app sends its weekly summary.
  • Whapi's "Black Friday Prep" email told Shopify merchants to set up WhatsApp flows early, since Meta template approval can take up to 24 hours. More on that kind of timing on our SaaS email marketing page.

How is the audit different from an email marketing consultation?

Many agencies open with a consultation: a call about your goals, then a proposal. Our audit reverses the order. We study your real setup first and put the findings in writing, so you judge our thinking before anyone asks for a decision. Want to talk strategy after reading it? Reply to that email and the thread becomes your email marketing consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the email marketing audit really free?

Yes. There is no fee, no card to enter and no contract to sign. We offer it because it is the clearest way to show how we think about email before you decide anything.

Do I have to hire you after the audit?

No. You can use the findings to fix things in house. If you do want help, our plan is $1,000 a month for 8 campaigns, month to month with no long contract.

Do I need to give you a login to my email platform?

No. We start with what is public: your domain's DNS records, your signup form and campaigns you have sent. If we need list numbers, we ask for a screenshot or a report export instead of a password.

Which email platforms can you audit?

Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Brevo, Constant Contact and Shopify Email, the platforms we work inside. If you use another tool or have not picked one yet, choose Other or Not sure yet on the form and tell us more in the message box.

What if my list is small or I have not emailed in months?

Request one anyway. A small or quiet list still has domain records to check and a signup path to review, and the sample calendar gives you a plan for starting again.

What do you do with the information I send?

We use it to prepare your audit and reply to you, and we do not sell it. Our privacy policy explains exactly what the form collects.
