Plenty of US businesses pay for ActiveCampaign, build a welcome automation once, and then let the Campaigns tab sit empty for weeks. Filling that tab is the job of an ActiveCampaign agency. EmailMarketingAgency.com plans, writes, designs and sends eight one time campaigns a month inside your existing account, using the lists, tags and custom fields you already have. You keep the account and contacts; we handle everything from calendar to report.
What does an ActiveCampaign agency do inside your account?
Here is where each ActiveCampaign feature shows up in our monthly work.
| ActiveCampaign feature | What we do with it |
|---|---|
| Standard campaigns | Write, build and schedule your eight monthly sends |
| Split Testing campaigns | A/B test subject lines |
| Lists | Respect the permission each list stands for |
| Tags | Target offers by interest and behavior |
| Custom fields | Personalize with facts like company name, city or product owned |
| Segments | Set the audience for every send, plus who to leave out |
| Predictive Sending | Use it on flexible sends, never on deadline sends |
| Campaign reports | Turn clicks, unsubscribes and complaints into one plain English monthly summary |
Copy, design in the ActiveCampaign email designer, QA and a spam score check come with every send. Our email campaign management service covers each stage in detail.
Is an ActiveCampaign Agency Partner the same as a campaign agency?
Not quite. According to ActiveCampaign's partner page, its Agency Partner program lets agencies resell the software at a discount or refer clients for a commission, and partners can invoice clients directly or white label the platform under their own brand. A separate Certified Consultant program is for specialists who sell their ActiveCampaign expertise. Both describe a deal with ActiveCampaign, not the campaigns you get each month.
So before you hire anyone, ask whose name is on the account and who bills you for it. If the account belongs to the agency, leaving can mean exporting and moving your contacts. With us, ActiveCampaign bills you directly and the account stays yours. Our guide on how to choose an email marketing agency lists 15 more questions to put to any shortlist.
Should ActiveCampaign campaigns go to a list, a tag or a segment?
Usually a segment. ActiveCampaign gives you three ways to group contacts, and we treat them as layers. Lists are the broadest grouping. Tags mark conditions that change, so they are easy to add and remove. Custom fields hold facts that rarely change. A segment can draw on all three, which makes it the right target for most sends.
Our rules in client accounts:
- Keep lists few. One per kind of permission, such as newsletter subscribers and customers. A list per promotion muddies reporting.
- Let tags carry interest and behavior. "Interest: Monthly Sites" or "Attended Webinar" are simple to segment on.
- Build the audience at send time. For example, contacts who clicked any email in the last 90 days, or Texas customers with no purchase in six months.
- Exclude on purpose. Recent buyers skip discount emails, and brand new subscribers wait until your welcome automation finishes.
Footers can also carry different unsubscribe links: one removes a contact only from the lists that campaign went to, while another removes them from every list. We agree with you which one to use.
Take the "42 New Big Rig Sites" announcement we wrote for Honey Bear By The Sea in Gold Beach, Oregon. Sent from ActiveCampaign, its best audience would be contacts tagged for large rigs or with an RV length field filled in, not the whole list.
How do you A/B test an ActiveCampaign campaign?
You create a Split Testing campaign. According to ActiveCampaign's pricing page, campaign A/B testing is included on every plan. A split test sends more than one version of the same email, and the versions can differ in subject line, sender details or content. ActiveCampaign can pick a winner after a waiting period and send it to the rest of the audience, or you can send every version and compare reports afterward.
Our default setup:
- Two versions, one change. Almost always the subject line. More versions spread a modest list too thin.
- A test group sized to the list. Smaller lists often get an even 50/50 split with no winner step.
- Clicks pick the winner. See the box below.
- A wait time that fits the deadline. Hours for a sale, a day for a newsletter.
- The lesson goes in the report. Each result shapes next month's subject lines.
Apple says Mail Privacy Protection downloads remote content in the background whether or not the reader engages. That can record opens that never happened, so an open rate winner may be an accident.
Our guide to writing email subject lines covers what we test first.
Does ActiveCampaign have predictive sending?
Yes, it is called Predictive Sending. Instead of releasing a campaign to everyone at the moment you schedule it, ActiveCampaign holds each email for the time that contact is predicted to engage, based on their past activity, so some people receive it hours later than others. ActiveCampaign's pricing page lists Predictive Sending on the Pro and Enterprise plans, not Starter or Plus, so we check your plan first. Apple Mail Privacy Protection also makes open history a noisier signal than it used to be.
That delay is why we use it selectively:
| Campaign | Predictive Sending? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly newsletter | Yes | No deadline, so a later arrival costs nothing |
| B2B seasonal reminder, like Whapi's "Black Friday Prep" | Yes | Its advice (Meta template approval can take up to 24 hours) holds for days |
| Product launch, like the Prifix "G70 Gas Cooker" email | Sometimes | Fine for a follow up; the announcement should land on launch day |
| Last hours of a sale, like HomeStop's "The Console Edit" | No | A reminder after the sale closes does harm |
| Local event invite, like Riverwalk at Yadkin River's "Camp O Ween" | No | Guests need it well before the event |
| Date driven activation, like ExpenseTracker's "New Month, Clean Ledger" | No | Built around November 1, so it must arrive that day |
What is the difference between ActiveCampaign campaigns and automations?
A campaign is a send you schedule for a set moment. An automation sends on its own when a contact does something, such as joining a list. ActiveCampaign also has campaign types that fire on a trigger once they are set up, such as Automated, RSS Triggered and Date Based campaigns; a birthday email driven by a date field is the classic example. Our monthly plan covers the one time sends: Standard and Split Testing.
A welcome series, abandoned cart reminders and post purchase emails sit outside the $1,000 plan and can be quoted separately. We map any automations you already run before writing the calendar, so nobody gets a welcome email and a sale blast the same morning.
Which deliverability checks come before your first ActiveCampaign send?
According to Google and Yahoo, bulk senders have had to authenticate their mail with SPF, DKIM and DMARC since February 2024. Google applies its rule to anyone sending more than 5,000 messages a day to Gmail accounts. We hold every client to that standard, whatever the volume, and confirm:
- SPF, DKIM and DMARC records exist for your sending domain and are passing.
- The return path domain lines up with your From domain, which helps SPF align for DMARC.
- The From address sits on your own domain, never a free webmail address.
- Bounces and complaints on recent sends are low, and long inactive contacts get reviewed.
- Every footer shows your physical postal address and a working unsubscribe link. According to the FTC, CAN-SPAM opt outs must be honored within 10 business days, and the law makes no exception for business to business email.
Our email deliverability checklist lists every record and threshold, and the CAN-SPAM compliance checklist covers the legal side.
When should you hire an ActiveCampaign email marketing consultant?
Outside help pays off when the account and automations work, but nobody has hours for weekly campaigns. Common signs:
- Your last campaign went out more than a month ago.
- You have tags that no campaign has ever used.
- Every send goes to the whole list.
- Email gets squeezed in between other jobs.
If your main need is new automations, that is project work we quote separately. If you need campaigns written and sent every week, that is the monthly plan. Software companies can see how we plan around trials and renewals on our SaaS email marketing page.
What do you keep, and what do we need from you?
ActiveCampaign keeps billing you directly. Lists, tags, segments, templates and campaign history all stay in your account, so there is nothing to hand back if we part ways.
We work from our own user login. ActiveCampaign's pricing page lists a single user seat on Starter and Plus, three on Pro and five on Enterprise, so check that a seat is free; our email platforms guide shows where to invite us and compares ActiveCampaign with the other tools we run.
Your time is about an hour a month: approve the calendar and review each draft as a real test email, with two revision rounds per email. The plan runs month to month at $1,000 a month for 8 campaigns, and our monthly email process shows each step from audit to report.
Ask for a free ActiveCampaign email audit: we review list health, authentication records and recent campaigns, flag missed opportunities and send a sample campaign calendar, with no cost or obligation.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an ActiveCampaign agency cost?
Ours is $1,000 a month, flat, for eight finished campaigns, with strategy, copy, design, testing, sending and a monthly report included. Your ActiveCampaign subscription is billed by ActiveCampaign, not by us. There is no long contract; the plan runs month to month.
Do you build ActiveCampaign automations?
Not as part of the monthly plan, which covers one time campaigns. A welcome series, abandoned cart reminders or post purchase emails can be quoted separately. Either way, we plan your campaigns around the automations you already run.
Which ActiveCampaign plan do I need to work with you?
Any plan supports the campaigns we send, since ActiveCampaign lists campaign A/B testing on every tier, but we need our own user seat. Starter and Plus list one seat, so you may need to free or add one. Predictive Sending is listed only on Pro and Enterprise, so we check what your account includes during the free audit and plan around it.
Can you work with the tags and templates we already have?
Yes. We start by reviewing your existing lists, tags, custom fields and templates, then reuse whatever is working. If we suggest a cleanup, such as merging duplicate tags, nothing changes until you approve it.
Can you move our contacts into ActiveCampaign from another platform?
A migration sits outside our $1,000 plan. ActiveCampaign's pricing page lists contact migration among the services it offers on every plan, so that is the first place to ask. Once your contacts are in, we can start on the campaign calendar.
Is EmailMarketingAgency.com part of ActiveCampaign?
No. We are an independent email marketing agency operated by Momo Digitals. We work inside your own ActiveCampaign account, and you stay the owner of the account and everything in it.
