This email marketing agency FAQ covers what US business owners and marketing leads ask us most before they hire. Bringing in an outside team means handing over your brand voice, your customer list and your sender reputation, so each reply below is short and specific: price first, then scope, ownership, approvals, results and the rules Google, Yahoo and the FTC set for senders. Sources for every rule and number are listed at the bottom of the page.
Use this email marketing FAQ to vet us. If you are comparing several agencies, our guide lists the questions to ask before you hire an email marketing agency, along with a scoring checklist to rate every candidate.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an email marketing agency cost?
Agencies bill in different ways, including hourly rates, per campaign fees, monthly retainers and a share of email revenue, so quotes vary widely with scope. EmailMarketingAgency.com has one flat price: $1,000 per month in USD buys 8 finished campaigns, each one planned, written, designed, tested, sent and reported on. You know the bill before the month starts, and there are no time sheets to audit. The pricing page breaks down every line item.
Is hiring an email marketing agency worth it?
It tends to pay off when you know email should go out every week but nobody on your team has the hours to plan, write, design, test and report on it. One flat fee covers all of that work without hiring a writer, a designer and someone to watch deliverability. It is probably not worth it if you only send a few emails a year or already have an in house marketer with time to spare. Our guide to what an email marketing agency does lists the work in full.
What does an email marketing agency do for you each month?
Ours plans a monthly campaign calendar and the strategy behind it, writes every subject line, preheader and body, then designs and builds each email inside your platform. We also handle segmentation, subject line A/B tests, QA on links, rendering and spam score, scheduling and deliverability monitoring, and we close the month with one plain English performance report. Every email comes with 2 revision rounds.
What counts as one of the 8 campaigns?
A campaign is one email we plan, write, design, test and schedule for a set send date, such as a product launch, a sale, a newsletter, an event invite or a seasonal announcement. Segmentation and subject line A/B testing happen inside each campaign, so they never use up extra campaigns. An automated flow is different: it is triggered by each subscriber's own action, like signing up or leaving a cart, and keeps running in the background, so we quote it as a separate build.
Is 8 emails a month too many for my subscribers?
Eight campaigns works out to about two sends a week, and not every one has to reach your whole list. Because segmentation is included, a launch can go to past buyers and an event invite only to subscribers who live nearby, so each person sees fewer and more relevant emails. Your monthly report tracks unsubscribes and spam complaints, and if either starts rising we plan the next calendar around it.
What is not covered by the $1,000 fee?
Four things sit outside the plan: your email platform subscription, which the platform bills you for directly; paid ads; SMS; and automated flows such as a welcome series, an abandoned cart sequence or post purchase follow ups. If you want flows built, we quote them separately so the monthly price never creeps.
Can you write emails that sound like my brand?
Yes. Before the first draft we read your website, recent campaigns and any brand guidelines, then match that voice in every subject line, preheader and body. For Prifix, the story of an Egyptian factory using Italian burners became the headline "Built in Egypt. Fired by Italy." Your 2 revision rounds per email are there to fix anything that does not sound like you, and our email copywriting page shows how we handle voice.
Which email platforms do you work in?
ActiveCampaign, Brevo, Constant Contact, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp and Shopify Email. We log in to the account you already pay for and build there, so there is no migration project and no new tool for your team to learn. Our platform comparison explains which kinds of businesses each one tends to suit.
Who owns the subscriber list, templates and data?
You do, completely. We work as a user inside your own platform account, so every subscriber, template, segment and report lives with you, not with us. If we ever part ways, you remove our login and keep everything.
Will I approve every email before it sends?
Yes, without exception. You approve the month's campaign calendar first, then each finished draft, and you get 2 revision rounds per email to change wording, offers or images. Nothing is scheduled until you say yes.
Do I have to sign a long term contract, or can I cancel?
There is no long contract. Service runs month to month, so if the emails stop earning their keep, you stop. Your account, list and templates stay exactly where they are, because they were never ours to take.
What do you need from me to start, and how much of my time will it take?
Login access to your email platform, your logo, brand colors and fonts, product or location photos, and a heads up on launches, sales or events coming up. After that, plan on about an hour a month for one calendar review and a handful of draft approvals.
How do I get started, and what does the free audit include?
Start by requesting a free email audit. We review your list health, your SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, a sample of recent campaigns and the opportunities you may be missing, then send a sample campaign calendar, at no cost and with no obligation. If you sign on, month one runs in order: calendar approval, drafts, your review, QA on every link and render, scheduled sends and a first report at month end. Our process page walks through each step.
How soon will I see results from an email marketing agency?
We will not promise a number, and you should be wary of any agency that does. What you can count on from the first full month is a steady schedule of 8 sends and a report showing what each one did. Outcomes depend on list size, list quality, offers and season, so month one mostly sets a baseline and later decisions rest on several months of data rather than a single email.
What will the monthly report show?
Delivered emails, clicks and click rate, conversions and revenue where your platform tracks them, unsubscribes, spam complaints and list growth, plus a short note on what we plan to test next. We treat open rate as a soft signal, because Apple says Mail Privacy Protection downloads remote content in the background by default, regardless of whether the reader engages with the email. Our metrics guide explains each number.
Can you keep my emails out of the spam folder?
Nobody can guarantee inbox placement, but we monitor what inbox providers grade: SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, spam complaint rate and list hygiene. Google requires anyone who sends close to 5,000 or more messages to personal Gmail accounts in 24 hours (bulk status then stays permanent) to set up all three records, and its sender guidelines tell senders to keep the spam rate shown in Postmaster Tools below 0.10% and never reach 0.30%. Yahoo tells senders to keep their spam rate below 0.3%. Our deliverability service page covers how we watch these, and the email deliverability checklist spells out the full Gmail and Yahoo rules.
Do your emails follow the CAN-SPAM Act?
Every email we build is checked against it: truthful sender details, subject lines that match the content, a clear ad disclosure, your valid postal address and a working way to opt out. The FTC gives senders 10 business days to honor an opt out request. This is general guidance, not legal advice, and our CAN-SPAM checklist lists each rule.
If an agency sends my emails, who is legally responsible?
Potentially both of you. According to the FTC, a business cannot contract away its duty to comply, and both the company whose product is promoted and the company that sends the message may be held liable. The FTC compliance guide also says each separate email in violation can carry a penalty of up to $53,088. That is why compliance is a line on our QA checklist for every send.
What kinds of businesses have you written campaigns for?
Most of our portfolio comes from US RV resorts and campgrounds, including Moab RV Park in Utah, Lake Buchanan RV Resort in Texas and Ozarks Landing RV Resort in Missouri; our campground email marketing page covers that work. We have also written for SaaS products (Whapi and ExpenseTracker), a luxury furniture store (HomeStop) and a home appliance maker (Prifix). The emails are on our work page; we do not publish client performance numbers.
